Michael Thompson
Michael has 30 years experience with several well known security technology, detection system, and scientific instrument manufacturers. His roles have included senior management, field service management, product/program management, engineering, and business development.
Prior to founding CSMI, Michael was a Vice President for several weapon and explosive detection system manufacturers including L3 Communications, Perkin Elmer Detection Systems, and Metorex Security Products. Michael also served as a Director of Sales for X-Ray Security Screening System manufacturer Vivid Technologies, and as a hardware design engineer for the Electro-Protective Corporation developing detection technologies, controls, and sensors. Michael was responsible for Product/Program Management while with the Princeton Gamma-Tech Corporation in Princeton, NJ, a manufacturer of Gamma-Ray spectrometers, spectrum analyzers, X-Ray flourescent, and X-Ray diffraction test and measurement instruments.
Michael has served as an independent security technology consultant for the US Government, several Host Nation Governments, the United Nations, and US Defense Contractors. In addition, Michael has significant experience advising on security technologies for specific applications and deploying detection devices and systems throughout SWA, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronic Engineering and has authored or co-authored several internationally recognized ASTM/ANSI/ISO standards on security technology products and testing procedures. Michael served in the US Marine Corps Infantry in the 1970’s.

Randall Kaminsky
Randall has an extensive background in planning and fielding technology based security programs in difficult to support and challenging environments abroad. He is responsible for the planning, management and oversight of all company operations. Randall has developed plans and policies for the integration of security technologies for the protection of critical infrastructure for the US Government, the United Nations and numerous host nation governments.
Prior to founding CSMI, Randall held key positions with L3 Communications Security and Detection Systems and with PerkinElmer Detection Systems managing the production and all facets of fielding and integration of large scale security detection technologies into seaports, airports, land border crossings and secure facilities with a focus on supporting DoD/DHS and governments in Latin America and Asia. Previously, Randall was the Country Manager - Mexico Operations for American Science & Engineering, Inc. He provided direct operational support to the Mexican Attorney General’s office by managing a major deployment of technology based security detection systems at remote security checkpoints throughout the Mexican Republic. As Country Manager, Randall was responsible for the formation and management of a Mexican Joint Venture to manage all company operations in the region.
Randall is a 20 year veteran of the US Army retiring in 1998. His military background consists of assignments in both conventional and Special Operations units including multiple Special Forces Groups, the US Army Special Operations Command and the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center - Combat Developments where he managed the development of multiple technology based Special Access Programs.
Randall holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the State of New York and a Master’s Degree in Security Administration from Webster University. Randall is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute - Monterrey and is a life member of the Special Forces Association. More/Less
Frank O'Donnell

Frank has more than 16 years of professional experience and possesses an extensive amount of specialized experience in Cyber, Intelligence, IT and Language Services support which spans 10+ years of providing Mission Critical services to Customers in the Defense & Intelligence Communities.
He most recently served as an Assistant Vice President for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) in its Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Group. Previously, he served as Senior Director of National Defense, Intelligence and Language Services for a Small Woman-Owned Defense Contractor - SM Consulting, Inc (SMC). At SMC, Frank was instrumental in helping the company grow into one of the country’s fastest growing Defense Contractors for 5 straight years. In 2008, SAIC purchased SMC in order to expand and enhance the range of capabilities it offers to support their Customer’s most critical missions. Prior to that, Mr. ODonnell spent 2 years as a Senior Consultant in both Washington, DC and New York, NY for a large regional consulting firm.
Mr. ODonnell has experience developing new business opportunities, conducting needs assessments, developing strategic plans and implementing solutions. He also has served in a Program Management capacity on multiple contracts. He has supported programs for the Department of Defense (DoD) clients, such as: the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Counterintelligence Field Activity (CIFA), DoD Guantanamo Military Tribunals, U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR), European Command (EUCOM), Africa Command (AFRICOM), as well as the Intelligence Community including: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Virtual Translation Center (NVTC), National Security Agency (NSA), and OGA/Intelligence Community (IC) entities, as well as international corporations.

Thomas A. Person
Prior to his current position as General Operations Manager at CSMI, Tom was the Special Operations Logistics Chief for USNORTHCOM J4 Special Operations Support Cell.
Tom’s previous assignments include CSMI Program Manager for a 55 million dollar IR/Night Vision fielding and sustainment project in Iraq in support of all USMC EOD Units. Tom’s direct efforts resulted in expanding the value of that operation to more than 85 million dollars.
Tom is a former US Army Officer who retired in 1997 having spent the majority of his career in Special Operations Forces (SOF) units. Tom is a combat veteran and has commanded organizations up to the Joint Special Operations Task Force level (JSOTF 2 – Rwanda Africa). Tom ‘s previous experience includes duties as the CENTCOM Desk Officer at the USA Special Operations Command (USASOC) during OEF/OIF where he was instrumental in the largest deployment of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in history. Tom has held various positions with the 75th Ranger Regiment to include the G4 Regimental Logistics Officer where he organized the deployment of 3 Ranger Battalions conducting the largest Airborne Assault since WWII during Operation “Just Cause”. Tom’s past assignments include the Special Operations Command Europe where Tom was recognized for saving thousands of Hutu and Tutsi tribesmen.
Tom is a graduate of numerous US Military leadership and logistical management courses and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Columbus State University in Science/Education. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Education with East Carolina University.

Kathy Vassil
Kathy Vassil manages all aspects of Finance and Human Resources for CSMI.
She has 20 years of professional experience in Finance and Business Administration. Prior to joining CSMI in 2004, Kathy held similar positions of responsibility in Business Administration and Finance at Unisys Corporation, GTE Technologies, Innovation Advisors, and Amperion Inc.
Kathy holds a degree in Business Administration from Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Beth McNeff
Prior to joining CSMI, Beth was the Assistant Director of Admissions at Simmons School of Management in Boston, MA. Beth currently directs Human Resource management activities for CSMI.
She has more than 15 years experience in recruitment and marketing in the higher education, financial services, and technology sectors. She also held previous positions at Fidelity Investments including Senior Communications Manager and technical writer for the public sector services division.
Beth received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Fitchburg State College and has been accepted as a candidate for a Master of Arts degree from Boston College.

David Leary
Program Manager - Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII)

David Leary is CSMI's program manager for all theater vehicle X-ray security programs which include; US Army, USMC, NATO and Iraq MOI Force Protection and security programs.
Prior to joining CSMI, David served as an Armor Officer in the 1st Cavalry Division, United States Army. David’s assignments included roles as a Tank Platoon Leader and Brigade Staff Officer. As a Tank Platoon Leader David planned and executed numerous combat operations during the “Surge” of 2007. His unit played a key role in dramatically reducing sectarian violence in one of Baghdad’s most disputed neighborhoods. As a Brigade Staff Officer David served as an Iraqi Security Forces Liaison and was responsible for over thirty military training teams working with two Iraqi Army Divisions and the Iraqi Police throughout the Ninewa Province.
David has held previous positions as a Financial Consultant for Trustar Retirement Services in Boston MA. David also worked as a defined contributions associate for Boston Financial Data Services in Quincy MA. David holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Massachusetts and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Suffolk University's Sawyer Business School.
