Chris Knox
Deputy Program Manager
Prior to his selection as a Deputy Program Manager, Chris spent
two years managing technical sustainment and logistical operations for CSMI in
both Iraq and Afghanistan in support of a major USMC MRAPS Night Vision/IR
program. This position was multifaceted and required Chris to manage CIED systems
worth in excess of $80 million. Chris
was directly responsible to manage and perform tasks that included system
installation, system operator training, logistical database and spare parts
management. Chris professionally
managed customer requirements from the OEM and at all echelons of command from
flag officer level to the individual end user.
Before joining CSMI, Chris served 9 years active duty in the
USMC as an electro-optics specialist and small unit leader. While active duty
with the USMC, Chris deployed twice to Iraq.
His initial deployment was to Al Taqaddum, Iraq with the 3rd
Battalion 24th Marine Infantry Regiment in 2004, Chris was
responsible for the sustainment of all Battalion night vision systems, thermal
sights, and missile systems for the unit. Chris’ subsequent deployment to Iraq
was with the 1st Battalion 24th Marine Infantry Regiment to
Fallujah, Iraq in 2006. During this deployment Chris served as the Battalion
armory chief ensuring that the Battalion’s night vision and thermal equipment
was operational. This was accomplished
through his deft management of all maintenance personal, parts and
equipment. In addition to managing
optical systems sustainment, Chris was also responsible for the maintenance of
all crew served weapons systems in the unit.
Chris’ education includes numerous staff management,
leadership and technical courses. Chris
is also pursuing and aeronautical degree and is a private pilot. He served in the USMC with distinction and
has earned numerous combat awards.
