Field Maintenance and Repair

CSMI provides our customers with the capability to rapidly deploy large numbers of technology based systems to austere and difficult to support environments. Our field maintenance technician teams quickly establish an infrastructure to support the implementation and maintenance of systems, personnel, and spare parts on behalf of the US Government and other customers.

CSMI Field Service Representatives (FSR’s) perform electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical maintenance on deployed technologies in austere and often hostile environments OCONUS. All field service technicians selected to join the CSMI team have a US Military background and experience.

Field personnel are factory trained and certified on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) equipment at the manufacturers facility. Factory certification ensures that CSMI FSR’s have a thorough understanding of the equipment that they are tasked to support. In most instances, CSMI FSR’s receive “train-the-trainer” classes enabling them to provide operator training in the field. Field training is a critical component for effective use of deployed equipment due to often frequent rotations of US military system operators. CSMI field service technicians are normally certified in the following areas by the OEM:

  • System operation
  • Troubleshooting to component level and Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) level
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance actions
  • Spare parts requirements
  • Operator training

CSMI field maintenance technician teams are forward deployed and are often embedded with DoD units or located on-site at host nation facilities. This ensures for a rapid response to maintenance and field repair issues thereby resulting in minimal down time and maximum utilization of the equipment. CSMI FSR’s perform the following functions:

  • Support initial fielding of systems and provide New Equipment Training (NET) and refresher training as needed
  • Implement supply chain coordination with the end use customer and CSMI logistical personnel
  • Troubleshoot to component level if required, diagnose system performance, repair (remove & replace), and evacuate system components as required
  • Perform field upgrades and system modifications as required
  • Assist equipment end-users in the effective implementation, operation, and maintenance of the system
  • Coordinate with end use customers and the CSMI Program office for status reporting
