Thomas A. Person Named General Operations Manager of
CSMI, Specialists in
Deployment and Sustainment of Technology Based Force Protection,
Counter-IED, and Counter-drug systems.
Lawrence, MA - October 1, 2009 -- CSMI (http://www.csmi.net),
unique technical services organization providing comprehensive, turn-key
technical support for the deployment and sustainment of technology based Force
Protection, Counter-IED, and Counter-drug systems, has appointed Thomas A.
Person General Operations Manager.
According to Michael
Thompson, CSMI President, “Prior to joining CSMI, Tom served as Special
Operations Logistics Chief for USNORTHCOM J4 Special Operations Support Cell. Earlier
assignments include CSMI Program
Manager for a major IR/Night Vision fielding and sustainment project in Iraq in
support of all USMC EOD Units.
Mr. Thompson added, “Tom
is a former US Army Officer who retired in 1997 having spent the majority of
his career in Special Operations Forces (SOF) units. He is a combat veteran and has
commanded organizations up to the Joint Special Operations Task Force level
(JSOTF 2 – Rwanda Africa). Previous
experience includes duties as the CENTCOM Desk Officer at the USA Special
Operations Command (USASOC) during OEF/OIF where he was instrumental in the
largest deployment of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in history. Tom has held
various positions with the 75th Ranger Regiment to include the G4
Regimental Logistics Officer where he organized the deployment of 3 Ranger
Battalions conducting the largest Airborne Assault since WWII during Operation
“Just Cause”. Past assignments include the Special
Operations Command Europe where he was recognized for saving thousands of Hutu
and Tutsi tribesmen.”
Mr.
Person is a graduate of numerous US Military leadership and logistical
management courses and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Columbus
State University in Science/Education. He is currently pursuing a Masters
Degree in Education with East Carolina University

CSMI
CSMI
is a veteran-owned small business focusing on efficient, hands-on and
responsive support for DoD security systems and ancillary components. CSMI technical field teams
perform a variety of technical support services for sophisticated technologies
fielded to OCONUS locations for security and force protection. Currently
supported systems include IED detection systems such as ground penetrating
radar, long range IR/Night Vision systems, medium and high energy X-ray systems
as well as general security systems such as radiation detection monitors,
parcel screening systems and Gamma Ray systems. Each program team is
deployed as a turnkey package to provide CONOPS development, system
installation, technical maintenance, end user training, logistics support,
field management and reporting of program status and statistical data.
Current
programs include turn-key technical service and support of OEF/OIF deployed
systems including X-Ray security systems, Vehicle Mounted and Portal Gamma Ray
Systems, IR/Night Vision systems, Radiation Portal Monitors and Ground
Penetrating Radar Systems. Ancillary systems support includes Chassis, HVAC, and Power
Generation maintenance,
plus local construction oversight.
